Memórias e reflexões sobre o ensino de piano na FAMES: uma entrevista com Isa Boechat

Abstract

In this interview, Isa Boechat, piano professor emeritus at the Espírito Santo College of Music “Maurício de Oliveira” (FAMES), reflects on her career as a teacher and manager at the institution. The interview is part of a research project on classical piano teaching at FAMES and the preparation of pianists for the job market. Thus, the interviewee reflects on the history of piano teaching in the state, on the professional field for a bachelor in music with an emphasis on piano, and on the challenges of being a musician today. By reflecting on her musical career, which she experienced entirely at FAMES, Isa Boechat offers, with this interview, an important document to record the memory of the institution.
