Abstract

The CD/Book São Paulo - Soundscapes, conceived and produced by Anna Maria Kieffer and released by Selo Sesc, brings the public a soundscape of São Paulo city. Through songs carefully chosen by musicologist Kieffer, the listener/reader was able to know the sounds of the city of São Paulo from a village at the beginning of the 19th century until the end of the century, when the city began to take shape as the great metropolis that it is. The work was divided into six parts: the city; law school; street voices; Soirees and Serenades; Abolitionists and Republicans; and The Levis. This review was prepared by listening to and analyzing the CD.
